Gene Harris Endowment

Individual and corporate donations, along with proceeds from the Gene Harris Jazz Festival, provide scholarships for outstanding music students at Boise State University through the Gene Harris Endowment. The Endowment was established in 1996 by Gene Harris to provide an ongoing legacy of jazz education at Boise State.

In 2000, 14 Boise State students were selected to receive scholarships.
Boise State’s music department enrolls nearly 200 music majors and serves another 3,000 students annually. The department offers bachelor’s degrees in composition, music business and music education, in addition to master’s degrees in music education, performance and pedagogy.
